Pre-Primed Canvas
Via a boutique rack-mounted method that stretches out the canvas for optimal application and precision, our pre-primed canvases are hand primed with water or oil-based gesso products by experienced artisans in our Brooklyn studio.
A range of other primers or mediums, including clear, white, and black gesso, tinted gesso, modeling paste, matte medium, hide glue size, or PVA are available upon request. We specialize in accommodating custom orders that simply can’t be handled by mass market providers.
Some clients, for example, prefer “raw edge priming”, where the surface is primed but the edges remain untouched. And, as always, we pride ourselves on striving to accommodate unique requests and finding the best collaborative solution all completed in-house in Brooklyn.
A minimum order of six yards is required for our hand-primed services.
