Pre-Primed Canvas
Via a boutique rack-mounted method that stretches out the canvas for optimal application and precision, our pre-primed canvases are hand primed with water based gesso products by experienced staffers in our Brooklyn studio while all oil-based priming services are executed by our longstanding provider.
A range of other primers or mediums, including clear, white, or black gesso, tinted gesso, modeling paste, matte medium, hide glue size, or PVA are available upon request and we specialize in accommodating custom orders that simply can’t be handled by mass market providers.
Some clients, for example, prefer “raw edge priming”, where the surface is primed but the edges remain untouched.
